modaspia is a small, california based clothing line established in 2002. the focus of modaspia is to source beautiful, often luxurious fabrics and pair them with a smart and comfortable fit. these fabrics are often high end, dead stock textiles from french and italian mills. we also use organic, sustainable fabrics when possible. the modaspia aesthetic has a modern feel but it's charm lies in it's use of vintage details. old school sewing techniques like french seams and silk binding ensure the garment's longevity and add to it's beauty. modaspia aims to make clothing that will be coveted – the true measure of sustainability. the clothes are produced in san francisco in small runs. we have been working with the same seamstresses for over a decade now, each production helping to sustain this small factory of skilled workers. modaspia is designed by ursula dean.
a fun short about my life up here was made by indie film maker lisa molomot a few years back and can be viewed here.
