i had a rare opportunity to go out with my husband alone a few nights ago and by dusk it was still in the low 90s .. this part of california, so close to places called Desolation Wilderness and a town called Pond, really simmers in august. i wore a skirt i made a few years ago and the pintuck blouse that is my favorite. for august i thought i'd have some skirts and blouses sewn up, something to carry you over to fall. the blouses - i love these fabrics. the pale pink is a french linen with a windowpane pattern. the pink is just pale enough to be wearable if that makes sense and has a sliver of grass green thread going through it. it looks beautiful and just right with the floppy skirt in slate grey raw silk. just a hint of a shimmer to it. really nice to wear any time of the year. the floppy skirt now has pockets on the side seams - something i'd been meaning to add and that makes a huge difference. you can see the pockets fully of posies in one pic. the skirt will also be available in a dark navy. the navy looks crisp and amazing with the pintuck blouse in white. the white is a new fabric i'm using for the next spring collection but am already so in love with i'm bringing it out now. a linen and rayon blend, the fabric breathes well - just very soft and comfortable. you can see how it has a slight pucker to it after washing. just great. all items hand wash, line dry. the skirts will be around $135 and the tops $120. i'll be cutting them on monday and following a photo shoot in a few days have them in the shop for purchase a little later. if you would like to pre-order any of the august pieces please get in touch with me via the shop. thanks! u.
