tulip boutique in burlingame.

i spent the weekend in the sf bay area showing the spring line to a few new shops. it went so much better than i could have anticipated. by nature i sort of expect things not to go great so when they do it’s just so much fun.
lavish is a shop in SF i’d been into a few years ago and i remember wanting to buy so many pretty things for my daughter there, all hand made with a heavy scandinavian feel to the store. they now sell women’s clothes too as well as home furnishings, really cool paper products, all kinds of things that make you stop and start as you go through the shop.
bella vita is a shop in oakland run by the very charming jennifer viale. she has a well-edited selection of vintage dresses, jewelry, children’s clothing and toys as well as a few local lines – one of which is now yours truely. jennifer really loved the spring collection and literally bought everything. if you’re in the east bay and looking to try on the spring collection (march 2010) this is where to do it. i bought giulietta a fun purse before we left there.
tulip was my last stop, in luxe burlingame. tulip is everything you really want in a “boutique” – open, airy, big changing rooms, quiet corners with little divans and a very well-edited selection of fashion forward clothing. it was fun to meet susan in person. we had a lot in common i found out and chatted about kids, japanese fashion and husbands.
